This recording represents an unusually fruitful mix of younger and older jazz musicians.

Solomon is one of the leading proponents of the art of jazz violin, whose great tradition includes such artists as Stephane Grappelli, Joe Venuti, Eddie South and Stuff Smith. Solomon, who comes from an extended family of classical artists, studied classical violin under Albert Pratz. Lenny has become best known throughout his work with the Lenny Solomon Trio, but has maintained an active studio career as session violinist, composer, arranger and record producer. One of his compositions, "Frozen Rain", appears on this recording.
