The relationship between guitarist Bill Bridges and violinist Lenny Solomon goes back a number of years to their involvement in th unique ensemble "Quintessence". This Toronto-based Canadian ensemble consisted of string quartet and guitar. Bill and Lenny developed a great musical relationship during their time with the group and have continued their collaboration in Trio Norté with the help of brilliant Russian accordionist Sasha Luminsky. In December 2000, Lenny and Sasha both showed up on a Klezmer 'gig' and Lenny was immediately impressed with this new accordion player. "His talent as a natural klezmer musician shone through but his classical technique and ability to improvise also intrigued me. I remember thinking that if I were to start a new project surely Sasha would be the perfect musician. Well, time went by and when I began thinking about Trio Norté my first choices were Bill and Sasha. I feel very lucky to be collaborating with such talented musicians."
